Learning Leaders: After School Program

If you enjoy arts and crafts, playing games, eating snacks, and working with little kids, volunteer for PAH’s after school programs! Palo Alto Housing (PAH) is a nonprofit based in Palo Alto that works to build strong, diverse communities by providing affordable housing in an increasingly expensive market. Many families living on PAH properties can not afford to send their kids to after-school programs or must work after school. In an effort to help kids gain important skills and experiences, PAH facilitates after-school programs for kids ranging from 2nd to 8th grade. In the program, kids participate in fun, hands-on projects such as making paper mache sculptures, painting rocks, building exploding volcanoes, and so much more! Additionally, kids get to snack on yummy treats and get homework help from volunteers. PAH is in need of Castilleja girls to help run arts and crafts projects and provide homework support. The time commitment is fairly flexible, and PAH properties are within walking distance from Castilleja. Come volunteer for an hour or two after school, meet smart and engaging children, and help foster community in Palo Alto.
