StreetCode Teaching Team Volunteer
You might have learned about StreetCode during Global Week 2018's C-Education! Join the StreetCode team as a volunteer for either the Winter Quarter (current session), Spring Quarter (starts April 2nd), and/or Summer Quarter (starts in June). As a volunteer, you'll be a Mentor on the Teaching Team.
Mentors do not need coding experience for every class. While there are some technical classes that do require coding experience, there are also several programs that involve either just working with kids and helping less-computer literate folks learn to do things like send an email. There are also several classes that cover different fields of expertise, including videography, makerspace design (3D printing, vinyl cutting, etc), and entrepreneurship/business.
There's an opportunity to be involved as a volunteer Mentor in a class or during office hours. Office hours are a good way for mentors to be able to come check out the StreetCode environment before deciding if they'd like to make a more dedicated commitment though.
High school (at least 16 years old)
Winter Quarter volunteers are being accepted on a rolling basis. Classes are Mondays/Wednesday, 6pm - 8:30pm; Office Hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday, 4pm - 6pm.
