6th Annual Peninsula CROP Hunger Walk
Join with over 100,000 people in the U.S. walking in nearly 1,000 community walks to raise money and act in solidarity with poor and marginalized people worldwide. In 2017, 95 people from 14 Peninsula churches and community groups walked together raising $16, 560, of which over $4,100 was sent to the Ecumenical Hunger Project. This year, our goal is 10 more Peninsula churches/groups and 200 walkers. Again, a quarter of the total raised will go to the Ecumenical Hunger Project. It is a fun, family friendly walk to raise funds and awareness. For example, only $20 can provide a year supply of vitamins to a starving child. This walk by faith and community groups benefits Church World Service (CWS) one of the 9 refugee relief NGO's authorized by the U.S. to work with the U.N. Refugee agency. CWS works with local grassroots groups for refugee service, sustainable agriculture, clean water, emergency response, and advocacy.
