Story Writing Competition For Middle School Students
Palo Alto Humane Society invites 7th and 8th grade students to become Ambassadors of Compassion by writing a fiction or nonfiction story on the theme of animals and people helping each other. There are many ways that animals help people such as companionship, therapy and healing, safety and rescue, support for soldiers, and helping on the farm, and people help animals in return. Stories submitted should illustrate a sense of kindness in their characters.
Who? 7th and 8th Graders
When? March 23rd, 2019
Where? Submit Online
Reward? The winning author will receive a monetary prize of $500 and four tickets to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The winning story will be illustrated by a professional artist and published by Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS). It will join PAHS' library of stories about animals and kindness and will be a highlight of PAHS' 2019 Creating Compassionate Communities campaign.
