Kaiser Permanente Spoken Word Poetry Slam Competition
The Girls' Festival Headline Sponsor, Kaiser Permanente, is highlighting the importance of mental health and wellness through a spoken word competition at our 4th annual Girls' Festival on November 9th at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
How you think, feel, and act affect your total health and mental wellbeing and poetry can be a source of comfort and expression as well as a tool for social change.
The Kaiser Permanente Spoken Word Slam Competition invites individuals or groups of girls (and those who identify as girls) 18 and under to enter the contest. We are looking for creative, original poems that address mental health and mental wellbeing experienced by the writer or someone close to them, as well as poems on related topics.
So whether you are a rising poet or just want to share your thoughts, we invite you to submit your spoken word pieces for a chance to perform at the Girls' Festival and win $500 and 25 free tickets to the festival!
Applications to be considered for the contest must be submitted by October 14th, 2019, so hurry to make the deadline and participate in this amazing opportunity!
