Research Intern at PUNCH Magazine
My name is Gabby Occhipinti ('16) and I write for PUNCH Magazine in Menlo Park. PUNCH Magazine is a monthly SF Peninsula-based lifestyle magazine. We have doorstep delivery to 22,000 homes from Burlingame to Los Altos along with online viewing (punchmagazine.com) and newsstand sales at Kepler's, Draeger's, Books Inc. etc.
As the school year kicks off, my editor has suggested I reach out to Castilleja students who might be interested in coming into the office (located on El Camino Real across from Cafe Borrone) as an intern one or two times a week after school to help with research and photography sourcing. They would also get the opportunity to "first-draft" some shorter articles and go out on interviews/photoshoots as they please (not obligated). Their name would also be featured in the publication's byline page.
The environment is fun and the mentorship incorporated is great preparation for the professional world. This would be a perfect resume builder/experience for high school students who would like to go into writing/journalism/research and other areas of the communication field.
